Talk:Adventurers
From Brickwiki
Is this a big enough theme, or are the subthemes well enough defined, that this should have a category as well, and subtheme articles?
LUGNET thinks it has subthemes: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?qc=lego/system/adventurers
I'm open either way, can't believe we let this one go this long actually. Maybe recruit Chris P or Christian R to get more content in? ++Lar 10:00, October 10, 2005 (Eastern Daylight Time)
- I think we should leave the subthemes in the main article until they grow large enought in which case it is easy enough to split them out and make a category (that's my new theory in general in fact). I think it has subthemes but I prefer one large article to five stubs. I can't believe it hasn't been added either, I have quite a fondness for this theme. Character names
This has always been a confusing subject. I thought Johnny Thunder was always called that in both US and UK, and Sam Grant was only used in Australia. SpaceCaptain 15:10, 7 January 2007 (EST)
Storylines
I've just reverted the addition of numerous storyline elements. Apart from being poorly written there is no source given for the information making me suspect it is just fanfic. If this information is correct then please undo my revert, fix the spelling etc. and give sources. Tim 16:52, 1 March 2007 (EST)
Why minifig theme
Why does this article start with the statement "Adventurers is a minifig theme". What is the difference between a "theme" and a "minifig theme"? Tedward 14:31, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- um... Minifigs? :) Seriously, there are some themes that don't have minifigs. (certain kinds of Technicish things, Belville, Creator, Scala and others) 192.97.38.92 16:52, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- Sorry but it is nonsensical to use the phrase "minifig theme" which is what I am trying to get at. Adventurers is a theme that includes themed minifigs. Unless we are going to categorize themes as "minifig" or "non-minifig" on a consistent basis I am going to change it to plain "theme". Tedward 18:38, 6 March 2007 (EST)
- I agree. Just plain "theme" is better, in my view.Claude Bombarde 00:51, 7 March 2007 (EST)
- Maybe categorise the non minifig themes as non minifig then... there are less of them. It is a meaningful distinction though. 209.101.226.226 08:27, 7 March 2007 (EST)
- I'm not so sure. While themes can be minifig or non minifig, is it useful to categorise them as such? Should we categorise themes as historic and non historic for instance? That's a meaningful distiniction. Or nautical and non nautical? That's also a meaningful distinction. But meaningful does not, in my view, equate to beneficial useful or even useful. Just because things *can* be distinguished on some basis doesn't mean they should be, in my view.Claude Bombarde 23:13, 8 March 2007 (EST)
- Seems a useful distinction to me, but whatever... you're the one doing the work. 71.205.92.101 13:30, 9 March 2007 (EST)

I added all of the characters that were shamefully forgotten! This probably makes the article a tiny tad huge, so maybe it WOULD be best to split it up into multiple themes.
characters and their relation to others
Namely Alexis Sinister. Can't see her as his wife though, and I'm sure I read somewhere she was in fact his sister. Check wikipedia itself.
