M8 is a small droid designed to fit in and around moonbases.

Origin
Inspired by the treadwell droids of Star Wars Don Solo created the original M8s which began appearing in LEGO MOCs in 2007. Since then many fans have built their own and included their droids in MOCs from many themes.
